Dr. Faheem Shahzad (Founder & Chief Advisor)
Sustainable Global Health Security Network (SGHSN)
Dr. Faheem Shahzad is a seasoned professional, biosecurity leader, and cyberbiosecurity expert with over 12 years of international experience at the intersection of immunology, microbiology, biosafety, and digital bio-risk mitigation. He is a UNODA-BWC Youth for Biosecurity Fellow and an IFBA-certified biosafety and biosecurity professional, holding five global certifications and advanced training in cyberbiosecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) risk analysis.
As a published researcher with 43+ peer-reviewed articles and a cumulative impact factor above 45, Dr. Shahzad’s scholarship spans host-pathogen interactions, immune genetics, molecular diagnostics, AMR surveillance, and emerging infectious disease intelligence. His current focus includes AI-driven biological threat detection, bioinformatics surveillance systems, and the implications of autonomous technologies in biosecurity governance.
Dr. Shahzad has contributed to national research projects funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan on topics including COVID-19 immunovirology, colorectal cancer biomarkers, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. His leadership also extends to policy development—contributing to Pakistan’s draft biological waste management guidelines and life sciences codes of conduct.
Internationally, he has served as Global Mentor for the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA), mentoring professionals across Asia and Africa. He has led over 50 national symposia and training programs, directly training more than 5,000 early-career scientists and health professionals in biosafety, dual-use research, and lab security.
As a thought leader in emerging threats, Dr. Shahzad actively explores how artificial intelligence, data systems, and cyber-physical convergence are reshaping global bio-risk landscapes. His work at SGHSN aims to build global resilience by promoting interdisciplinary solutions in health security, One Health, and responsible innovation—especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Dr. Noman Bashir (Program Manager)
Sustainable Global Health Security Network (SGHSN)
Dr. Noman Bashir is a veterinary scientist, One Health advocate, and certified biosecurity professional with deep field experience in zoonotic disease control, livestock health systems, and global health security preparedness. With a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and an M.Sc. (Hons) in Livestock Management, his academic and applied work has centered on Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) technologies and integrated animal health strategies.
As Program Manager at SGHSN, Dr. Bashir leads interdisciplinary efforts to strengthen bio-risk awareness, outbreak response capacity, and responsible life sciences practices in Pakistan and beyond. A Health Security Futures Fellow and recipient of multiple international fellowships, he brings extensive experience in biosecurity auditing, antimicrobial stewardship, and field-based One Health implementation.
He is an active trainer and policy advisor, contributing to the organization’s mission by bridging the gap between science, community practice, and policy advocacy—particularly in rural and resource-constrained settings.
Mr. Hassan Raza Ali (Assistant Program Manager)
Sustainable Global Health Security Network (SGHSN)
Mr. Hassan Raza Ali is a committed Public Health graduate and youth leader in community resilience, biosafety education, and preventive health systems. His academic research has focused on biosafety awareness among undergraduate students, reflecting his dedication to grassroots engagement in health security.
At SGHSN, he supports programming related to field training, event coordination, and stakeholder mobilization. With field experience from major public hospitals and government departments, Hassan applies his insights to design and implement community-centered interventions that align with SGHSN’s goal of building a prepared and informed next-generation public health workforce.
He plays a key role in expanding SGHSN’s reach through educational campaigns, digital outreach, and youth-led initiatives addressing emerging bio-threats and dual-use research concerns.
